Marwan Pablo, Egyptian Trap “Godfather”, Quits his Music Career at 24

While fans were hooked up on Pablo`s hits and just excitedly waiting for Marwan Pablo`s upcoming tracks. The artist took everybody by surprise in February when he informed fans through his Instagram story, that he decided to quit music for ‘personal reasons’.


As soon as he announced his retirement, questions regarding the reason behind his decision started to surface the internet. Not only fans but also other hip-hop artists had different reactions and speculations.


On March 9, Pablo went live on Instagram after many rumors started to fill up the internet, like him being sick or even that he died. Marwan mentioned in his video, that the rumor of his death made him angry, and he denied that his retirement is related to his health, or his family members.


The artist said that the main reason he retired is the pressure that was forced on him, the different levels of expectations that people have cornered him within, and the constant labeling. He explained that he needed a break to recharge himself without being cornered.

And for those asking when he is coming back, he answered when and if he is coming back or not remain unknown. Pablo also took the chance and addressed the changes he and his music had made in the Egyptian hip-hop scene.


Following his decision to quit music, Pablo received a ton of support from fans and other Hip-Hop artists, asking him to reconsider his decision, and get back to making music.

Marwan Pablo is known for hits like ‘Free’, ‘El Gemeza’, and Sindbad. He is acknowledged as one of the leading artists in Egyptian Trap Music.
